Because this group has more money to spend, they can purchase a lot more like upscale houses and go to designer boutiques.  They also have similar preferences when it comes to housing.  People over 50 want houses that are easy and comfortable that is easily maintained inside and out.  Older people prefer a single story floor plan or a home that offers a first floor master bedroom and other design features that is suitable for all ages.  They prefer a house with three bedrooms, washers and dryers, storage spaces, easy to open windows, easy to use climate controls, first floor master bedroom, energy efficient appliances, home security systems and high speed internet.  They also prefer a house located in suburban homes instead of living in a central city.
